The No. 15 BYU Cougars face the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday in a Week 2 college football matchup on FOX.

A series that dates back to 1936, these two teams are preparing to meet for the 28th time. BYU was pushed to the brink by Arizona last season, escaping Tucson with a 33-27 double-overtime win.

The Cougars entered this season returning 13 starters, the third-most in the country, including two of the Big 12’s top offensive players. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier was named Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year last season, while running back LJ Martin earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors.

On the other sideline, Arizona has one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the country in Noah Fifita. The fifth-year senior has made 22 career starts, including two against BYU, but has yet to beat the Cougars.

Fifita has struggled in those two matchups, throwing more interceptions (four) than touchdowns (three) against BYU.

Let’s take a look at the odds for No. 15 BYU vs. Arizona at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 12.

Arizona Wildcats BYU Cougars Arizona @ No. 15 BYU Prediction, Pick

From FOX Sports Research:

Despite not putting up his best numbers against BYU, Fifita has been in this matchup before and knows what to expect in front of this crowd. After last season’s heartbreaking double-overtime loss, the Wildcats should enter this game with a chip on their shoulder. But will that be enough to knock off the Cougars and end their five-game losing streak in the series?

BYU did take a significant blow with backup running back Sione Moa being ruled out for the season. Even with that loss, Kalani Sitake’s team has its sights set on a College Football Playoff appearance, and a strong start to Big 12 play will be crucial.

Arizona will be motivated to avenge last season’s loss and should give BYU another tough test, but it won’t be enough to knock off the Cougars. Take Arizona to cover the spread, but BYU to win the game outright.

Arizona Wildcats BYU Cougars The Pick: Arizona +7.5
