Bikaji Foods International Ltd announced on Thursday the demise of its founder, Chairman and Whole-Time Director, Shiv Ratan Agarwal.

Bikaji Foods has grown into India’s third largest ethnic snacks company and is the second fastest-growing player in the organised snacks market.

In a career spanning more than five decades in the ethnic snacks and sweets industry, Agarwal built Bikaji from a local Bikaner enterprise into a publicly listed, globally recognised packaged food company. Under his stewardship, the company expanded its product portfolio, adopted advanced manufacturing technologies and established an international market presence, making it one of India’s prominent FMCG brands.

The board of directors, management and employees extended condolences to his family, describing his passing as the loss of a pioneering industry leader.

The company said it remains committed to continuing his vision of growth and innovation. No immediate announcement was made regarding leadership succession or changes to the company’s operational structure.
